After a very long period of creative immersion, I am delighted to present my new project to you:
What about us... I work in humanity.
In the wake of the pandemic and the arrival of my grandchildren, I’ve been inspired to weave the threads of family ties through the fabric of my artistic expression. I found myself retracing the steps of movement restrictions, delving into the immigration journeys, and contemplating the exile of my ancestors. What remains of their intangible legacy? What have I inherited from their tormented life experiences? And now, as my generation of cousins continues our family’s tradition of immigration, we embrace new cultures and thrive on different continents. I etched a autolouange* note to honore my maternal lineage, aiming to reconnect with each member. As I read the words aloud, I felt an overwhelming sense of emotion, inspiring me to create a portrait of echoes, leaving space for the colours and shapes to convey their messages. The approach I present today involves creating around forty portraits as a tribute to my ancestors for their profound influence on my life. Through this process, I aim to discover the similarities I share with relatives who reside thousands of kilometers away and, ultimately, to consider the legacy I will pass on to future generations.
This visual and poetic family tree is a universal ode to the true connections of humans linked by blood and choice of alliances. With this testimony, I invite you to travel again through your lineage.

*Autolouange is an ancient and universal practice found in many cultures. It involves expressing oneself in the first person and elevating the subject beyond everyday experiences.
